Online Bookings

1. This facility caters for the period from 01 April 2025 to 30 June 2026.
2. All new reservations made online will require immediate and full payment by credit card. If this is not possible, please use one of the alternative booking methods.

4. The availability information is updated real-time (unless interrupted by technical difficulties) between our reservation system and the website. As SANParks accept reservations on a first-come-first-served basis we cannot guarantee that accommodation clients saw as available online will still be available by the time a reservation is attempted.
5. A community fund of 1% will be added to the cost of all accommodation and activity reservations.
6. Downgrading (reducing the total value) of a reservation made here could result in modification fees. These are calculated on the difference between the reservation cost before and after the changes were made. Downgrading:
   • 6 days or less prior to arrival (or after arrival) will result in a 100% modification fee
   • 7 to 14 days before arrival will result in a 50% modification fee
   • 15 to 30 days before arrival will result in a 25% modification fee.
   • If the arrival date of the itinerary is postponed prior to or on date of arrival and then cancelled at a later stage, the fees that applied at the time of amendment will be enforced if the amount is greater than the new cancellation fees.
7. Cancelling a reservation made here could result in cancellation fees. These are calculated on the total value of the reservation that was cancelled. Cancelling:
   • 6 days or less prior to arrival (or not arriving at all) will result in a 100% cancellation fee
   • 7 to 14 days before arrival will result in a 50% cancellation fee
   • 15 to 30 days before arrival will result in a 25% cancellation fee.
   • If the arrival date of the itinerary is postponed prior to or on date of arrival and then cancelled at a later stage, the fees that applied at the time of amendment will be enforced if the amount is greater than the new cancellation fees.
   • Should the reservation not be taken up on the arrival date the accommodation will be held until 09:00 the following day after which the reservation will be cancelled and the deposit, where applicable, forfeited.
8. Online payments are processed in South African Rand. All transactions, including refunds, are calculated at the current exchange rates.
9. Guests may consider postponing a reservation (at same or higher cost and subject to availability) as alternative to cancellation. Guests will be required to pay in the difference should reservation cost increase as a result and if reservation cost decreases the booking will be subject to the rules that apply for downgrading a reservation (see above). Note that any subsequent cancellation or downgrading will consider the initial reservation arrival date to calculate modification or cancellation charges.
10. Modification and cancellation charges may be levied on any reservations amended or cancelled online, irrespective of the channel through which the reservations were originally made, subject to SANParks' conditions for the acceptance of reservations.
11. To make use of sleeper couches or stretchers provided for children in certain units, please use one of the alternative booking methods.
12. Unit allocations made on existing reservations may be overwritten when editing on the web. Please contact camp management to ensure allocation.
13. SANParks does not recommend booking different accommodation types in the same camp over consecutive dates as this creates problems. Guests who decide to book different accommodation types in the same camp over consecutive dates must understand that they would need to move from one unit to another and they must take note of check-in and check-out times, which will apply.
14. This facility also allows you to book same-day activities conducted by SANParks in a national park under its jurisdiction. SANParks offers a wide range of activities. To ensure that you do not book activities that overlap on the same day, information relevant to the estimated time of departure and duration of the activities is available here. Please also refer to paragraph 22 for the rules and regulations with reference to "Indemnity".
15. Day visitors to Kruger should also book their visit, especially during busy periods, which can be done via this facility.
16. All visitors to the Parks pay a Daily Conservation Fee when entering the Parks. These Conservation Fees vary from park to park.
17. All online reservations will receive a 5% discount on bookings for accommodation and camping, unless specific promotional or seasonal discounts advertised explicitly as being available to online reservations, are announced, in which case the latter will apply.
18. South African Senior Citizens who would like to make use of specially reduced pensioner Senior Citizen rates, have to use one of the alternative booking methods to make or amend their reservations.
19. The reservation is only guaranteed once you've received a confirmation e-mail from SANParks reservations.
20. Wheelchair Friendly units are kept on reserve to avoid their booking by guests who don't require their adapted facilities, so we are unable to put this function online until less than one month prior to occupation. Please contact reservations.
21. SANParks retains the right to change any tariffs, services or rules without prior notification.
22. Our online reservations system makes use of, and requires, JavaScript and Cookie technologies.
23. Resort Availability is reconciled on a daily basis. This process starts at midnight (South African time) and runs for approximately 2 hours. This results in the booking system being down between 00h00 am and 02h00 am SAST.
24. Guests entering national parks will be required to sign a document indemnifying SANParks against any claim, action, judgment, costs and / or expenses which may be made against SANParks - view the gate registration and indemnity information per park.
25. An additional Activity Indemnity Form is required for guests who will be participating in our activities on offer, such as guided walks and game drives. Guests who will be conducting a wilderness trail are required to complete the Medical Questionnaire Certificate for trail participants .

Wild Card

Wild Card Programme Membership is linked to a primary member, and where applicable to his/her partner and or dependent. Membership may not be transferred and Partner or dependents details may only be altered at the time of annual membership renewal.

Access to the Parks will only be granted if valid identification (ID / Passport) is presented with your new Wild Card or valid proof of membership. Valid proof would include a Receipt, Voucher, Confirmation Letter or Application Completion Request, issued no more than 45 days prior.

Any unauthorised reproduction, storage, sale, adaptation, distribution, publication, broadcasting, modification, transmission or recording of the content of this website or any part thereof, will constitute copyright infringement.

3. Booking form contained on website

3.1 The online booking form does not constitute an agreement between SANParks and a user, but constitutes an offer which may or may not be accepted by SANParks.

3.2 SANParks reserves the right to decline or execute a booking at its absolute discretion, without the necessity to provide any reasons. SANParks also reserves the right to cancel bookings at its sole discretion.

4. Policy on cinematographic or photographic material

In terms of Regulation 20(1)(a) of the regulations under the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, nobody may in a national park undertake "the filming and simultaneous transmitting of photographic images by the use of a webcam or other image recording or transmitting device", unless a filming permit has been obtained.

In terms of Regualtion 20(1)(h), the making of a cinematographic film or the taking of photographs in a national park for a commercial purpose - either directly or indirectly - is unlawful unless a filming permit has been obtained. The procedure for obtaining a filming permit is contained in the SANParks Filming Policy, which can be viewed on our website at www.sanparks.org. Special filming privileges are also subject to the policy.

The use of any of the cinematographic film or photographs contained on this website, or any cinematographic film or photographs obtained from any National Park, without the necessary permit, is unlawful.

5. Disclaimer and Site submission rules

Users of, or visitors to, our website may not post comments, statements or other materials on our website that may be libellous, obscene, defamatory or that may infringe copyright, trade marks or any other intellectual property rights. Any such unlawful postings will immediately be removed from our site, without notice or warning.

SANParks cannot be held liable for any comments, statements or other materials posted on our website.

SANParks reserves the right to use IP addresses and cookies to identify users, when we feel it necessary to enforce compliance with our Terms of Use, Rules and Policies, or to protect our rights, services or website.

Any non-compliance with our Terms of Use or Rules and Policies will be met with the disclosure of user information to law enforcement authorities. SANParks reserves the right to disallow access to this website.

7. Agreement in terms of Section 21, 85, 86 and 87 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act

7.1 No information or data on this website constitutes an offer to do business, but is merely an invitation to do business.

7.2 No agreement shall be concluded merely by sending a data message to this website or its owners. Valid agreements require an acceptance of an offer by SANParks.

7.3 No e-mail message shall be deemed to have been received by SANParks until a response has been issued by SANParks. An automated response, from SANParks, shall not satisfy this requirement.

7.4 Section 85.

In this Chapter, unless the context indicates otherwise— “access” includes the actions of a person who, after taking note of any data, becomes aware of the fact that he or she is not authorised to access that data and still continues to access that data. Unauthorised access to, interception of or interference with data

7.5 Section 86.

(1) Subject to the Interception and Monitoring Prohibition Act, 1992 (Act No. 127 of 1992), a person who intentionally accesses or intercepts any data without authority or permission to do so, is guilty of an offence.

(2) A person who intentionally and without authority to do so, interferes with data in a way which causes such data to be modified, destroyed or otherwise rendered ineffective, is guilty of an offence.

(3) A person who unlawfully produces, sells, offers to sell, procures for use, designs, adapts for use, distributes or possesses any device, including a computer program or a component, which is designed primarily to overcome security measures for the protection of data, or performs any of those acts with regard to a password, access code or any other similar kind of data with the intent to unlawfully utilise such item to contravene this section, is guilty of an offence.

(4) A person who utilises any device or computer program mentioned in subsection (3) in order to unlawfully overcome security measures designed to protect such data or access thereto, is guilty of an offence.

(5) A person who commits any act described in this section with the intent to interfere with access to an information system so as to constitute a denial, including a partial denial, of service to legitimate users is guilty of an offence.

Computer-related extortion, fraud and forgery

7.6 Section 87.

(1) A person who performs or threatens to perform any of the acts described in section 86, for the purpose of obtaining any unlawful proprietary advantage by undertaking to cease or desist from such action, or by undertaking to restore any damage caused as a result of those actions, is guilty of an offence.

(2) A person who performs any of the acts described in section 86 for the purpose of obtaining any unlawful advantage by causing fake data to be produced with the intent that it be considered or acted upon as if it were authentic, is guilty of an offence.

8. Severability

In the event that any of these terms of use are found not to be valid or enforceable for any reason whatsoever, such term(s) shall be severable from the remaining terms of use. The remaining terms shall not be affected by such invalidity or unenforceability and shall remain enforceable.

9. Privacy policy

9.1 SANParks may have to share personal information provided by users, with other commercial entities with which it has a business relationship. These entities do not have the right to use the personal information shared with them, beyond what is necessary to deliver the user’s requested service. SANParks will only use a user’s personal information insofar as it may be necessary to provide the services offered on this website. SANParks will not sell or disclose the user’s personal information other than for the reasons set out in paragraph 11 of these Terms of Use.

9.2 SANParks collects and will be in possession of the following private and personal information of users:

9.2.1 Information voluntarily provided by user. This information is gathered for booking and for service provider purposes; and

9.2.2 Information automatically collected (e.g. cookies). This information is collected to improve the interaction and browsing facilities on the SANParks sites.

9.3 By using this website the user consents to the following:

9.3.1 SANParks may disclose users’ information to entities with which SANParks have a business relationship for commercial reasons;

9.3.2 SANParks retains the copyright in its databases of personal information of users;

9.3.3. SANParks may use the users’ personal information for communication purposes from time to time. Users may indicate if they do not wish to receive such communications; and

9.3.4 SANParks may use users’ information for non-personal statistical purposes.

9.4 In addition, SANParks may disclose any user’s information where it is legally obliged to do so in terms of the laws of the Republic of South Africa .

9.5 Any personal information provided to third parties linked to our site is at your own risk. SANParks is not responsible for the actions or policies of such third parties and suggest that you check the applicable privacy policy of such third party before providing personal information.

9.6 Our website is not intentionally designed for or directed at, children under the age of 18 years. It is our policy never to knowingly collect or maintain information of persons under the age of 18. When posting any information to this website or any of our other websites, you agree that you are aged 18 years or older.
